The Three Step Interview Process

1. Establish a rapport
2. Gather Information
3. Close

When establishing a rapport first impressions are formed, this then sets the tone of the interview. The interviewer should show passion, positiveness and confidence to set a good tone for the interview. In this first step you can make a personal connection with interveiwee here. When gathering information ask probing questions that invole more than a one word answer. It is important to keep the interview light but to also gather as much information as possible in the time frame you have. It is up to you how you close the interview, it is always best to close formally but it depends on how the interview went and what the tone of the interview was. However always thank the interviewee for their time and their input and a friendly hand shake is always a good way to close an interview.
