Documentary Modes And Genre's

The poetic mode- uses the world, it incorporates history and makes it appear more modern and interesting in today's society.
The expository mode- it speaks to the audience directly and addresses social issues it is very factual and argumentative.
The obsevational mode- the documentary is filmed in a less instrusive manner so it makes the documentary feel light hearted and less involved.
The participatory mode- this documentary is very interview based it involves the filmer asking alot of questions and being a part of the final production.
The reflexive mode- this type of documentary deals with issuses of realism and represtentation and it acknowledges the presence of the viewer.
The performative mode- involves emotions and talks about subjects that can be sensitive issuses have different meanings and effects of different people.
