Theorist- Walter Fisher 1987

Walter Fisher suggested that the world is rational. His theory is the 'rational world paradigm' and 'the narrative paradigm.' The rational world paradigm suggest that people are essentially rational and that people make decisions based on arguments. Rationality is determined by how well we argue and the world is set of logical puzzles that we can solve through rational analysis. The narrative paradigm suggests that people are essentially story tellers, people make decisions based on good reason. He suggested that rationality consists of two factors: coherence and fidelity. Coherence is defined as if a story makes sense structurally. Fidelity concerns whether or not the story is true or not. Fisher's theory relates to our work because we are trying to portray our argument in a rational way. We hope that by the end of our full documentary our audience would have made their mind up about their views on graffiti. He suggests that people make decisions based on good reason. We hope our documentary will show a balanced argument and we feel it is a topic that many people can relate to in one way or another.
